Yeah I can see how useful they are now. As I add the design elements to the page I have made minor adjustments which if I had used absolute and relatives would of been a nightmare, where everything below just shifted down still keeping their spacing as I wanted.

Thanks, I have done curved corners before using background images. But for this I am happy for it to work in a few browsers as I intended. It still displays fine if a little square in the other lacking browesrs and I am sure the other browsers will catch up soon enough. I am more interested in the use of CSS3 at this point.

Divs & floats dude - it's the way forward.
I detest the position:absolute/relative etc.
Only in rare, extreme cases do I use them. The problem is - once you start - it tends to have a knock on effect with all your other page controls.

If you want to know how to do rounded corners that work across all browsers, gimme a shout.
One of my recent projects was to build a system that was very design heavy (for a publishing company) it had to work IE6 onwards and of course firefox, safari, chrome etc.
Nowhere near as easy as CSS3 but achievable through some careful div placement or through the lovely ajax :)

Not approached the mobile issue yet. I expect that maybe a new stylesheet template in the future. For now it's about the browser as that will be where it will do its most work. But I will be interested to see how it displays with out a specialised template.

Looks good, I like the idea of substance over style.
Style will follow as a natural progression.

I will try it on my mobile browser to see what I get and let you know.

That's fantastic news Wavey. You and yer brother looked so worried the other night I just wanted to come over and give you both a big hug. Perhaps if there wasn't a room full of people watching a film at the time I would have done !
But I'm very glad it's worked out well with your dad. I remember the devestation my dad's death left and your own mortality suddenly becomes very, very obvious, so for you to be able to have your dad safe and sound is a great, great thing indeed. Say Hi to him for me !!
